Who are the mestizo shamans?
Origin
Mestizo shamans are traditional healers from the Amazon Basin, primarily in Peru. They are part of a mixed heritage that combines Indigenous Amazonian and Spanish influences, creating a unique blend of cultural practices and spiritual beliefs.

Mestizo shamans specialize in a variety of healing practices that include herbal medicine, spiritual cleansing, and most notably, the use of ayahuasca. This powerful plant medicine is central to their healing rituals and is known for its profound psychoactive effects, which can lead to deep personal insight and transformation.
The Power of Song
One of the most remarkable aspects of mestizo shamans is their ability to sing icaros, sacred songs that are believed to guide the healing process. These songs are more than just music; they are considered to carry spiritual power that can protect, heal, and transform individuals. The icaros are sung 1-1 as part of a healing, during ayahuasca ceremonies, to open and close dietas.

What is it?
I am offering an intense 8-week course, including four personalized icaros tailored to your needs. The icaros will be in languages such as English, Spanish, Quechua, and Norwegian.
I will teach you about the art of icaro work and how the rattles and chakapa play a crucial role in holding the space and singing your icaros into people.
Additionally, I will teach you about the art of ceremony and the methods mestizo shamans believe are best for performing and holding ceremonial work.
